System cleaning

    Hello, I install a new open atv image on Zgemma H9.S

    I didn't upload any new plugins except for oscam

    and I only have 40 MB left xD

    does install a new image from usb leave old files maybe?

    some backups or configuration files that would weigh a lot?

    what could I delete from the device?

    I don't have any recordings etc. on the disk


    and I will also add that I will expand the memory with an sd card but for now I would like to clean up here

    I scanned the device but it takes quite a long time but you can see that dev weighs the most

    A clean usb flash should fully erase and replace the files on the STB chipset.

    Your STB has a very small flash, some images are smaller than others.... typically openpli is the smallest image.

    You could save a little space by removing plugins you dont use, or languages you dont use. Dont go deleting folders as in your screenshot, that will crash the image


    As you say it is probably best to use flash expander and make you flash much larger. There is a section on the forum where this has been fully explained.

    What the feck have you got in your dev folder. Dev folder is mainly symlinks?

    Ok just checked my dev with file explorer. I do actually get similar. :)

    You can delete anything in /var/volatile/tmp

    You dont mention whether you have setup multiboot. This will take up space in the etc folder.

    Make sure your epg is saved to an external media like hdd or usb and not internal

    Turn off debug logs if they are turned on - they can swamp /home/root/logs. (you can also delete anything in that folder)

    Fully reboot your box and not just gui.

    And as you have said you have installed oscam - how big is your oscam log file.

    location defined in /home/root/logs/.../oscam.conf.
    i.e /tmp/oscam.log

    OscamEmu by levi45 from plugins and those that were on the openatv image, i.e. basic


    I have empty logs


    but when set a new system, for example picons were left, that's why I asked if something like that could have accumulated somewhere in the folder and is not deleted when flashing


    nothing left but to expand the memory


    and here's the question, will the memory expansion be remembered when uploading a new image?
