Tailscale on enigma2.... How I did it.

For the terminal, I installed AJPanel,..... and used the terminal from there.

From the terminal (within AJPanel)

opkg update

opkg install kernel-module-tun

modprobe tun

tailscaled -port 4434 -tun userspace-networking

tailscale up

Now we will observe that a URL appears that we will put in our web browser, log in and we will have our enigma2 receiver added

Then perform a normal system update, which updates Tailscale to the latest version.
I "think" this procedure needs the older version of the IPK to be installed first.

Note1 : Didn't need to add a cron,..... tailscale fired up by itself on booting.

Note2: Normal Enigma2 plugin updates then found the Tailscale program and updated it along with everything else.

Note3: Didn't have to change folder permissions. Already on 777

Note4: Remember to set device key "does not expire" on the Tailscale dashboard for this,..... in fact,..... for all devices.

According to my receiver. Wireguard is not installed, nevertheless tailscale (which uses it) is working nicely.

I really like it, because it "maps" local IP addresses across the net with its subnet router ability.

For instance, I've a synology nas on 192.168.1.10. I enter that into my browser offsite,.....and it connects.

I can browse other devices on my home lan similarly,...and no messing with port forwarding or other stuff. Especially useful as you don't need to open ports like 80 or 443 etc

initially, each device added to your tailscale network is given a dedicated ip address. 100.84.x.x or something.

You can use that to connect to your devices.

I have outside access to a nas, 2 pc's, firesticks, a raspberry pi and a projector.

Just about anything networksble can be added.
