play greek srt file with media player

    I have an extrend et6000 and i want to play greek subtitles.
    The file is .srt.
    The player can read the file but it doesnt show the subtitles but strange signs.
    is there a way to change the language encoding for the media player?
    Or is there a plugin that will allow to play greek subtitles with avi.

    I had the same proplem in Xtrend ET 4000. The problem was solved this way:
    open the srt file with notepad and save it again with encoding UTF8 (not ANSI). That's all
