Hi Everyone.
I know there is multiple threads discussing about the same thing but I have an issue that I couldnt find any solution for it. I upgraded my GTmedia v8x from base original to M.ars but I did not like it, and I want to go back to the original firmware.
I bought the cable USB to RS232 and downloaded "GTMedia_V7V8 Refresh Tool_V2.2" along with USB to RS232 driver.
I managed to connect my STB but it stuck on "usb start;fatload usb 0 83000000 flash.bin;sf burn 83000000 0 800000"
What I did
- Connect GTmedia v8x output RS232 to my PC (USB)
- Run Refresh Tool with Admin
- Downloaded latest base firmware from this site, renamed it to "flash.bin"
- format one of the USB2.0 4GB to FAT32 and copied "flash.bin" to it
- Connected my USB2.0 4GB to GTmedia v8x
- Refresh Tool will ask to reboot the v8x, and once I reboot it will start patching.
- it will reach to ~80% and stuck on "usb start;fatload usb 0 83000000 flash.bin;sf burn 83000000 0 800000" with no error or anything. (Image1)
- I notice when rebooting the GTmedia, it will not stop or stuck on boot to upgrade, but it will start the M.ars OS, not sure if thats the issue here and how to stop that
- I'm using Windows 10 Pro
- I tried latest available firmware & oldest available firmware
- I tried renaming the file from "flash.bin" to "update.bin" and same behavior
Thanks in Advance!
