  • Hello.. after an OpenATV update (7.51) my H7S stuck on boot with a 49 code. It just shows the OpenATV logo but cant do anything with it in this state.

Is there anyway to get into multi-boot mode so I can access my other images? Or is there a reset procedure involving the power button and remote, etc? Have tried pressing the button and the remote pwr button at same time but doesnt work.

    Thanks.

  • if possible

Telnet connection from PC, using box IP address (root/no password)

Init 4 (there is a space between)

Then filezilla ot other FTP (again root is logon no password)

    usr/share/enigma2 and delete skin folder

    Telnet session : init 6

    reboot

  • Thank you gentlemen, problem resolved. I forgot there was a reset button behind the front flap which together with the pwr button I could recover. Restored a backup and all is good. :smiling face:

  • All is not good. Openatv has default settings, of crash on skin error for debug purposes.
Turn that stupid option off, as any newly installed skin with an error is going to put your box in a #49 boot loop.
I have been saying this for years they need to turn this option off.

    Menu > Setup > System > Log settings >

    Handle Python crashes > No
Crash at skin error for debug reasons > No

  • Good to know, thanks. I would think 99% of users dont care about logs, just the devs.

  • Hi, it happened to me once too, there was that loop, but before each installation of another skin, I set -usr-lib-e2-share and then a new skin appears there and I delete it, the loop stops and the default skin jumps there, done.
