How to flash and recovery flash with USB. Tutorial for AB Com Pulse 4k

    Hi everyone, I've read some guides online, but they're not clear enough for me.


    I'll receive it in a few days, with all the slots empty, and I'd like to ask you a few questions to be sure:

    1) What procedure should I follow to flash the first slot?

    Should I use the normal image or the recovery image?


    2) If in the future I want to perform a recovery flash to reset all the slots, what should I do?

    That is, I extract the contents of the recovery image to the root of the USB stick, turn on the decoder, and simultaneously hold down a button on the remote control.

    Which button, "OK" or "POWER"?

    How flash a Pulse 4k Receiver


    1. Download the image of your choice to your computer.


    2. Format a USB flash drive to FAT32 (do not use a quick format!). Use a low-capacity USB drive (I use an old 1GB Kingston drive).


    3. Copy the compressed image to the USB drive.


    4. Power off the handset using the back button.


    5. Insert the USB flash drive into the USB port on the front of the receiver.


    6. Power on the set-top box using the power button on the back and simultaneously press and hold the power button on the remote control until you see the power menu.


    7. Three options will appear; we selected the third option (boot menu).


    8. A new window will open; select the local flash image.


    9. You will see your USB drive automatically select the image on it.


    10. Click on the image on the USB drive.


    11. Select the slot where you want to install the image. The flashing process will begin.


    12. Wait until the flashing is complete; the device will then return to the boot menu.

    There you will see the new image you just installed.


    13. Select the installed image from the boot menu, and the new image will start.

    Okay, what if I wanted to use the recovery image instead? The same procedure?

    Don't I have to unzip the image to the root of the USB stick?

    In some guides and videos, do they show pressing the OK button on the remote? What's that for?

    Howto flash the recovery_emmc.zip


    To do this download the recovery file from the downloads section of your choice and then extract the zip file to the root of your usb stick.


    Then power off your PULSe 4K, and insert the usb (front or rear port it does not matter), then press and hold the reset button next to the tuners on the rear panel, and keep holding it when you power on the box again.


    You will see the Red light on the front panel, power on, and then flash (you can release the reset button once the red light starts to flash).


    When it stops flashing, the recovery flash is complete and your box will reboot.


    You can then boot into the recovery and use the Online Flash option.

    tamiciav7 there are tow ways to enter on "recovery mode"


    with receiver turned OFF -->>


    1 ) turn ON the receiver from the button on the rear and at the same time hold down the standby button on the remote control until you see the red light on the display of the receiver .

    2 ) turn ON the receiver from the button on the rear and at the same time hold down delicately on the display of the receiver until you see the red light .

    Unfortunately, whatever I tried it didnt work. Any way I tried from boot manager I cant see files to flash. I can see usb stick. But there are only option for boot where is nothimg and files like synce...(cant remember), Efi and something els. In recovery mode as well. I put zip folder, or unzip. I added force_pulsek.txt or not. Nothing change. I flash few boxes, but that one make me crazy!!!


    Please help me.
