New Update: IPTV Dream v6.5.2 is Now Live!

Following our recent discussions and based on your valuable feedback, I am excited to announce the release of IPTV Dream v6.5.2. This update focuses heavily on stability, cleaner code, and resolving the most common issues reported by the community.

My main goal for this version was to eliminate bugs and streamline how the plugin handles portal data and updates.

What’s New in v6.5.2?

MAC Address Handling & Normalization

• Better Compatibility: Added canonical MAC normalization. The plugin now accepts various formats (using :, -, ., spaces, or raw 12-hex strings) and validates them before the handshake.
• Auto-Repair: The saved portal list is now automatically repaired. This includes deduplication, cleaning up invalid entries, and migrating old JSON formats.
• Consistency: Unified host normalization across GUI, WebIF, and save/load paths to prevent broken records and duplicate entries.
• Improved Security: Saved lists now display normalized values consistently and use safer "add/update" logic.

Smarter Updates

• Version Control: The updater now uses Semantic Versioning. It will no longer blindly treat any version difference as a "newer" release, making the update process much more reliable.
• Cleaner Installs: Improved the way the updater locates files within GitHub ZIP archives. It also automatically removes __pycache__ and test artifacts after installation to keep your system lean.

Optimization & Metadata

• Lightweight Package: Removed unnecessary developer files and runtime artifacts (.pyc files, test scripts) from the IPK payload.
• Modernized Code: Updated metadata for full Python 3 and GitHub support.
• Support Update: All support contact points have been updated to our official email: aio-iptv@wp.pl.

Is there a .deb file available for DreamOS?

Unfortunately, a .deb package for DreamOS is not available at this time. The reason is that I do not currently have a DreamOS device on hand to conduct proper builds and testing.

As of now, the plugin is primarily developed and tested for OpenAlliance-based images (using .ipk packages). Should I gain access to the necessary hardware for DreamOS testing in the future, I will certainly post an update regarding compatibility.

• LANGUAGES: Added a full language selection menu: Polish, English, German, Spanish and Arabic.
• LANGUAGES: Added automatic system language detection; if the system language is not supported, the plugin switches to English by default.
• EPG/PICON: Rebuilt bouquet export: channel name normalization, aliases, EPG Import variants and service references.
• EPG/PICON: Added automatic creation of /etc/epgimport/iptvdream.channels.xml and /etc/epgimport/iptvdream.sources.xml.
• PICONS: Improved matching of existing picons from /usr/share/enigma2/picon and storage devices: /media/hdd, /media/usb and /media/mmc.
• MAC/STALKER: Added ADULT / XXX mode and adult channel filtering, so these channels are no longer skipped when adding them from a MAC portal.
• WEBIF: Added support for PL/EN/DE/ES/AR languages and MAC ADULT / XXX mode.

• JĘZYKI: Dodano automatyczne wykrywanie języka systemu; jeśli język systemu nie jest obsługiwany, wtyczka domyślnie przełącza się na English.
• EPG/PICON: Przebudowano eksport bukietów: normalizacja nazw kanałów, aliasy, warianty EPG Import oraz service-ref.
• EPG/PICON: Dodano automatyczne tworzenie plików /etc/epgimport/iptvdream.channels.xml oraz /etc/epgimport/iptvdream.sources.xml.
• PICONY: Poprawiono dopasowanie istniejących piconów z /usr/share/enigma2/picon oraz nośników /media/hdd, /media/usb i /media/mmc.

• Added Russian (RU) language support in the menu, WebIF, and plugin messages.
• Improved ADULT / XXX filter: it no longer catches regular channels/movies containing the number "18" in the title.
• For MAC Portals, the XXX group now only fetches actual adult categories/channels, provided the portal offers them.
• Accelerated MAC list downloading: reduced unnecessary create_link operations for each LIVE channel.
• Reduced the risk of blue/green screens when exporting large MAC/Xtream/VOD lists by offloading EPG mapping for VOD/Series.
• Improved EPGImport: added RU source and reduced the excess of aliases per channel.
• Improved picons: cache is now copied to the picons directory; added support for images missing a correct Content-Type header.

• Przyspieszono pobieranie list MAC: ograniczono niepotrzebne create_link dla każdego kanału LIVE.
• Ograniczono ryzyko blue/green screen przy eksporcie dużych list MAC/Xtream/VOD przez odciążenie mapowania EPG dla VOD/Series.

Hello, thank you for sharing the crash log. I am already aware of this bug. The issue is caused by trying to add too many channels at once, which overloads the system. I am working on a solution and will include the fix in the upcoming release. A new version will be published shortly.
