  • Hi.

After updating OpenATV 7.6, in 2026-02-06, CCCAM 2.3.0 (old softcam) stopped working as a softcam-client.

I used it for a long time on Vu+ Solo SE V2 (mipsel chipset). I used the cccam 2.3.0 binary file for a very long time because in the case of Oscam it showed "timeout 5000" errors, always at random times within 1-3 days. So from then on I started using only CCCAM (cccam 2.3.0 binary for mipsel) as a softcam-client, and then everything was fine. Unfortunately, many CCCAM editions (versions) did not work correctly, except for this one ver. 2.3.0. I would like to use the cccam 2.3.0 binary softcam file as a client again.

Debug cccam 2.3.0 shows nothing... it just runs. Camd.socket exists and is present - it is visible as a shortcut in the Linux system.

I feel as if the cccam softcam does not communicate well with camd.socket or as if OpenATV does not receive ECM requests from the satellite reception for the need of their decoding.

OSCam as a softcam paradoxically still works. But I do not want to use OSCam as a client... because I had big problems with it in the past (the decoding card runs in IRDETO mode).

Does anyone know what can be done about it ? Captain maybe ?

    Please... and thanks !

  • OK... but why ?

Does this mean that I'll be switching to OpenPLi after many years ? :)

They have just merged softcsa also, so chances are it won't work in OpenPLi either once they push the update.

But the question has to be asked, why in 2026 is anyone still using CCcam anyway?

  • Because if I use Oscam as a client + Oscam as a card server, then "timeout 5000" problems arise there.

I have tried many things for this problem. Dozens of modifications to the Oscam configuration.

I have tried various communication softcam protocols (cccam, newcamd, camd35, ...).

I have also tried changing various build versions of Oscam on both the client and server sides. Today it is unrealistic, because a private Oscam is needed for Irdeto Layer-2B.

I have really tried a lot... but nothing helped. It only helped when I started using only CCCAM as a softcam client. But still various problems arose, with various versions of CCCAM softcams. CCCAM version 2.3.8 cut the image. CCCAM version 2.3.2 caused a different problem (I don't remember exactly what problem). Only CCCAM 2.3.0 worked perfectly as a client softcam. It's funny, but it's true.

I wanted to write to the creators of Oscam, get a DEBUG, etc. but that's a long, complicated job for months. The creators will request specific DEBUGs, I have to get them and send them. Then the creators will make the fix and give me Oscam back for testing. Then, after testing, I will provide feedback again. And so on. That's very annoying and time-consuming.

  • Hello s3n0 anyway if you like the OpenATV so much you can use the 7.5.1 that from there the cccam works

works because there are no updates for the ccam

  • I had the same problems. My oscam and Cccam 2.3.0 stopped working. I also tried few different oscam and Cccam with no luck. What I did I have updated my Open Pli to 9.2 version and then instal plugins Cccam and oscam -emu. It is working fine!

  • I would spend more time figuring out why your oscam client isn't working; it's been working perfectly for a long time.

Try my oscam; you can use it for home servers.

Or send me your oscam configuration files, from both the server and client. "Timeout" usually just means something's wrong with the network. How are your devices connected?

  • After today's update everything is back to working fine

    Cccam ok
