Problem with the front interface of Ustym 4K Pro not working

  • My Ustym 4K Pro was running the GAZAL_Mix_v1.00.52 image.
After about an hour, I noticed that the front screen wasn't lighting up, and the front power button was also off. I couldn't access recovery mode. I managed to access recovery mode using the recovery button on the back and switched to the OpenATV 7.6 image, but the front screen and the front power button remained off.

Please help me fix this problem.

    1. Complete Power Disconnect (Cold Boot) Enigma2 receivers sometimes retain static voltage in the front panel controller.
    • Turn off the receiver using the rear power switch.
    • Unplug the power cable from the receiver itself for at least 5 minutes.
    • Plug it back in. Sometimes this is enough to reset the display microcontroller.
    1. Check Settings in openATV 7.6 It is possible that in the new image the display brightness is set to "0" by default.
    • Go to: Menu > Setup > Usage & GUI > Display > Front Panel Setup.
    • Check the Brightness and Standby Brightness levels. Make sure they are not at minimum.
    1. Install/Update Front Panel Drivers If the display went out after using the GAZAL image, it may have replaced system files (FPGA/Drivers). In openATV you can try to refresh them via terminal:
    • Connect to the receiver via Putty (SSH).
    • Run the following commands:text
      Code
      opkg update
      opkg install vfd-uclan
      opkg install --force-reinstall vfd-uclan
    • Fully reboot the receiver.
    1. Check via Recovery Menu (Multiboot) Since you mentioned entering Recovery via the rear button, check the following inside the menu (before loading any image):
    • Does the display light up while you are in the Recovery menu?
      • IF IT LIGHTS UP: The problem is purely software-related in the images (drivers).
      • IF IT DOES NOT LIGHT UP: There is a possibility that the ribbon cable inside the case has loosened due to heat, or the GAZAL image made an incorrect write to the FPGA (front panel firmware).
    1. Hardware Check (If nothing else helps) If the display does not light up even in Recovery mode and after a Cold Boot:
    2. Carefully open the cover (if it is not under warranty).
    3. Check the ribbon cable that connects the front panel to the mainboard. Remove it and reinsert it carefully.
    4. Look for swollen capacitors on the front panel power line.
