Problem with Dreambox 920

  • When I downloaded an image other than DreamOS 2.5, it doesn't work and displays a red screen, preventing me from accessing the image. The only images that work on the device are the old Marilyn (2.5) images and other older images. However, the IP address appears without any problems when entering recovery mode. Please help! The reason for this problem is that the device was perfectly normal before I downloaded a backup of the egami-11 image. When I tried to access it, the red light appeared, and that's when the problem started. Thank you all.

    My friend, I've written before that it's not a good idea to load images into Dreambox that aren't compatible with Dreambox, but when a problem arises, how do you get out of it? But many people don't listen, they just do what they want.

  • Repair your dm920 kernel // Rescue Loader

    I will give you 4 options

    Option 1 - Booted from a DreamOS image, telnet command

    apt-get update && update-rescue -v

    Option 2 - Booted from an OpenImage (OpenATV, ...), telnet command

    update-rescue -v

    Option 3 - Start your box in Rescue Mode, log in to the IP address and choose Online Recovery

    Option 4 - If you do not have an internet connection on your box, download the dm920 files from dreamboxupdate (2 files)

    download : zImage-rescue-3.14-r0-dm920-20201201.bin

    download: image sig (.sig file normally not required, but contains the PGP signature.)

    Place (2 files) in the /tmp folder and then execute the telnet command:

    cd /tmp

    flash-rescue zImage-rescue-3.14-r0-dm920-20201201.bin

    or in one telnet command:

    flash-rescue /tmp/zImage-rescue-*.bin

    (there are other options...)
