  • Hello everyone

A short preface, I use a translator, so I hope my explanation is clear.

VU+ SOLO SE V2 with BlackHole image

While watching a satellite channel, it gave me a green error screen. I waited, and it rebooted. After a few minutes, the error screen appeared again. I waited for the system to reboot as before. I waited, but it took longer than usual. At this point, I decided (probably wrongly) to turn the VU+ off and on again using the rear button.

    The decoder doesn't start.

When I turn on the VU+ using the rear button, the decoder doesn't start. The front LED is on, and when I press the remote control buttons, it flashes. The two Ethernet port LEDs remain constantly on and don't turn off as they usually do during normal startup.

I tried flashing the BlackHole again, but the 2GB USB stick I usually use isn't receiving power; the LED doesn't light up, and there's no power on the two USB ports.

I measured the external power supply with a multimeter and got a reading of 12.36 volts at the output, so it's working. I also tried powering it with an old benchtop power supply, but the result was the same.

Looking at the receiver's motherboard, I don't see any obvious signs of a burned component; the only electrolytic capacitor is fine.

I searched online but found little, I read that it could be a problem with the NAND memory

Has anyone experienced this problem and can tell me how to fix it?

It's not always like this... it needs to be set under load, as cardiologists say. You can't know if it does the same thing on another box.

    1. A power supply isn't a huge purchase.

    2. This way you can be sure if it was the motherboard or the power supply.

NB: I tested it on a laptop. It worked because it required 3.5 amp hours, but if it requires 4.5 amp hours, like HP, it will never start.

  • I tested it on another Enigma decoder and it works perfectly. To eliminate any doubt, I used a benchtop power supply, setting the parameters of the original power supply, and even with that, the VU+ behaves the same way.

It doesn't start up, and the front LED and the Ethernet port LEDs remain on.
