FPGA firmware version 4.5 is needed

after installing new blackhole image 1.7.7 i keep needing to re-install fpga update to watch different channels. Is there any way how i can install FPGA 4.5 update just once for it to permanently install? Also on latest VTi image the same firmware upgrade is needed is there any way i can install this upgrade before reflashing my blackhole 1.7.6 to tryout the new VTi image? I have tried many times on bh 1.7.7 but every other channel change the fpga was needed before channel was viewable, needless to say i have reverted back to bh 1.7.6 for the timebeing. Any help greatly appreciated
