Smartcard init error

Hi to all,
I hope that someone can help.
I have an original -ds card which works in original (non UK) -ky receiver but when I put the smartcard in my EagleBox Mini HD, it does not clear any channels.
When the card is inserted in to the receiver (chip side up), the message "SmartCard Insert" pops up and after a while it briefly gives a message "Smartcard init error" followed by channel scrambled message which stays on the screen.
The receiver is patched with the latest March/April Aquila patch.
