  • Hi all,

I would appreciate any help on setting up my cardserver, I have been researching and testing setups in all my spare time the last weeks but without the decired results.
I'll try to explain my current setup and targets of what I want to achieve.
At the moment I have an old Dreambox DM500s with OpenPLI (latest) on that box is setup as the cardserver with a canaldigitaal(dutch) smartcard in the reader. The used build is oscam-1.20-unstable_svn7851-powerpc-tuxbox-linux-gnu and config files are in the attachement when you unzip in the folder DM500.
In our livingroom I have an own build HTPC with the below specs that I want to connect to the above server (canaldigitaal), the configfiles used here are found in the file HTPC when attachement is unzipped.
Maybe the information is a little bit overkil but better then less information then required i sepose...
    Case: MS-Tech MC-1200AN
Powersupply: SilverStone SFX Series SST-ST45SF (450w)
    MB: ASUS F1A75-M Pro
    Processor: AMD Fusion A4-3400 / 2.7GHz L2 1 MB (2x512KB) - Box
Proc. cooler: Scythe BIG Shuriken 2
    mem: Kingston HyperX Genesis 2x4GB - DDR3 - 1600MHz
    HDD 1: OCZ Vertex 3 Series SSD 60 GB - SATA600
    HDD 2: WD Caviar Green 3TB – SATA600
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit
    Blueray station: LG BH10LS38 10x2x10x
TV card: Digital Devices Cine V6 (twin DVB-S2)
    Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit
DVB Link TV Source (laatste versie)
    Oscam cygwin build 7851
    Oscam launcher 1.12
Windows media center as TV player

At this moment I can watch decoded channels from canaldigitaal on my DM500 but not on the HTPC, I don't really understand the structure enough to understand what is going wrong.

by the way,,,,the DM500 will be changed to a VU+ SOLO because of the DVB-S2 that is required but I sepose that this won't change the settings overall.

It's possible that my server is not working because of wrong configfiles but I also question myselve if Windows mediacenter will use oscam when the server is setup.

Like I wrote earlier, any help is more then ever welcome!

    Regards, Bert

  • Maybe I can be more specific also about with which questions that I am strugling.
1: Is the setup like discribed a good setup? Linux sattuner as server with HTPC windows as client?
2: Is for my setup Oscam the best solution?
3: Am I using stable builds?
4: what's wrong with my configs?
5: Am I missing anything else that needs to be setup on top of the current?

  • Hi, nobody with usefull feedback?? do I need to split the problem and try to fix step by step?
I have the Vu+ Solo in and installed the latest VTI on it with oscam and cccam2.1.3

Anybody a good advice as a starting poit which is the best setup with a VU+ Solo and a win7 HTPC?

  • After a sleepless night I got a few steps further again, I focused on understanding oscam for weeks but in the meantime didn't knew that there was a plugin needed to run with my TV cards. Installed acamd as a plugin for DVBlink and tried to set it up with oscam.
At this moment I think the oscam client is connected to the cccam server on de vu+ solo, the link to acamd seams to be the problem.

In acamds cardclient.conf added this line to connect with oscam:
    tuner 1:

  • I have the server working now with acamd on htpc directly connected as client to the cccam server, it looks like everything works fine but when i switch channels it's pritty slow and sometimes scrambled a few seconds or there is no sound stream. sound stream is fixed when i stop and start in the same channel.
I'll try to find out what I can do in a different topic, this one is not in line anymore with the subjet and it's not very popular topic. :)
