Sn0wBreeze, the jailbreak tool for Windows users, has just been updated to add jailbreak support to the latest iOS 6 firmwares. iH8Sn0w has releasedSn0wBreeze v2.9.7 with jailbreak support for iOS 6.0 and iOS 6.0.1 firmwares.
The iOS 6.0/iOS 6.0.1 jailbreak is a tethered jailbreak and only works on A4 devices or older iPhone 3GS’. If you’ve got an iPhone 3GS with the old bootrom, then you’d be able to get an untethered jailbreak on iOS 6.0/iOS 6.0.1. Others will have to make do with a tethered jailbreak for the time being. The iPhone 4S, iPad 2 and all the new devices from Apple are not supported for the jailbreak, yet.
Here’s all that’s new with Sn0wBreeze v2.9.7:
- Added 6.0 (10A403)/6.0.1 (10A523) support. (Only includes iPhone 3GS & A4 devices).
- The 6.0/6.0.1 is currently a tethered based jailbreak via iBooty (except for iPhone 3GS old bootrom users).
- SAM is built-in for iOS 6 hacktivations. (Hacktivated phones can reboot to a semi-tethered state after being activated [rather than just hang at the Apple Logo]).
Windows users can now tethered jailbreak their iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS or 4th generation iPod Touch running on iOS 6.0 or iOS 6.0.1. Once again, this is a tethered jailbreak.
