I don't get my Pi & db remote

There are 2 replies in this Thread which was already clicked 449 times. The last Post () by didi.

    So a brief introduction


    Pi ver. B running OpenELEC - connected to LAN - remote / Yatse Android app for remote
    Panasonic (TX P46G30Y) - not connected
    db 800se clone - connected to LAN


    Now to the odd stuff .. the db remote
    Works flawlessly on the db of course but also on the TV with no adjustments just works like a charm


    BUT it also works on the XBMC running on Pi ?!?! Also it seems like the arrow keys on the remote
    aren't for any use as long I'm not in any kind of "menu" on the TV so they are free to be used for
    browsing around in the XBMC environment with out interfering with the TV.



    Could some one please explain to me how this sorcery works ?

    I am not able to check this at the moment because my Raspberry Pi is being used for other things at the moment, but I do know that HDMI CEC could be the reason why your remote for your dreambox is controlling your XBMC menu. You can disable this in the settings on XBMC if you don't want it to do this.

    If I take a while to respond, you can see why.....

    Well I do prefer to use my db remote before some app on my android phone
    hard to get a "feeling" for the remote when it's a flat surface
