Disabling of the conditional access setting

I bought the Amiko Alien2 as my first ever SAT receiver and am quite happy with it, easy to set up and for now works almost flawlessly. I have a problem regarding the conditional access setting though (enable/disable the CA modules). I have my cable providers card in slot 1 and when I enable it, everything works alright. But every time i turn the receiver off the setting resets itself to "disabled", so every time I turn it back on I have to set it back to "enabled". Is that a bug or a feature? I mean, it seems like a needless bother to have to go into menu/setup/conditional/access/enable every time I turn on my receiver?

Ok, I just realized this automatic disabling of the conax modules might be a bigger issue than just the nuisance of having it turn on manually every time I turn on my box.

The thing is the conax modules (conditional access setting) resets itself to disabled every time the box is turned of and when it turns itself back because of i timer I set to record something the conditional access stays disabled. Recording the coded channels of my cable provider based on timer is thereby not possible.

Could somebody please tell me if this automatic resetting of the conditional access setting is normal (intended) behavior? If not, what could be causing it?

Thanks for the suggeation but there is no such option in spark, only the enable/disable conditional access setting.

However I found this statement in another forum, where this same problem was being discussed:

"if any file under /var/bin with filename 'cam' or 'mcas'. STB will automatically set conax to disable mode"

I'm quite new to this and I have simply installed some plugin packs and now have lots of plugins, but only experiment (try to learn) with OSCAM. Will there be any harm done if I just delete the files with "cam" and "mcas" from /var/bin to test the suggestion from the other forum?
