Hello bud, it can literally can be down to the make of the pen drive,Vu range can be choosey reagrds usb sticks unfortunately. What brand are the two 16gb drives you are trying?

Some other members might be able to confirm whether or not they have the same type working in their solo.

I use sandisk myself,never had any probs.

First you need to mount the drive by pressing blue button twice. Secondly you need to format the disk with EXT 3
Lastly set th recording path in the set-up and you are done

You can use Pc or laptop too for creating ext3 partition.Search easeus tool Please Search in google
