VU+ Solo Open Vix Image Do I need New Bootloader

You will need it for the latest ViX image,even if you have done it before it won't do your solo any harming doing it again.

The solo2 does not have any bootloader update so dont even attempt to flash one to a solo2 or you will permanently kill your receiver, also be aware that although flashing a bootloader is a relatively easy task it is akin to a Bios update on a PC so if it goes wrong you can say bye bye to your receiver, only update bootloader when absolutely necessary.

The file above is for the solo otherwise it would be named solo2
