just a simple quesyen for a first time linux user can "user name" be root ? or are it the one you choice under installation of debian ? (:

yes but root is not a home made user, it's a standard administrator if i understand right ?
It sounds to me that you may of answered the question yourself nice123 if it was me i would choose something different that i could remember or try root as your username im sure your soon find out if it works or not..
