Would Dreambox anytime work on a vu+ solo 2 maybe since its also linux based?
Never tried this myself either but i see no reason why not, it appears to be made withGerman tv in mind but you could always try it.

Quick Guide:
Requirements:
Linux box (never been tested with Windows?)
PHP 5.3
mysql
Enhanced movie centers on the Dreambox (will remove the need for a Recycle Bin for the recordings)
install:
First Unzip folder in a browser-accessible path
Second The Mysql Dump 'mediadb.sql' into a Mysql database load
Third customize the information in config.php to mysql server and Dreambox.
4th status page access via browser: anytime.php
5th To 'Editor' click to set all channels to be taken into account in anytime
6th anytime_service.php run via shell (zBsp php5 php5 anytime_service.php anytime_service.php or screen)
7th All records end up in the folder '/ hdd / movie / anytime / on your hard disk
