I just got my ***star2 dvbcard. I got it all installed and wanted to test this stuff out. My first problem was that i could't find any channels on Astra 4.8E but only on Thor 0.8W. I figuerd out that my sat cable were plugged directly onto the 0.8W Lnb. then i changed my cable with my parrents cable so mine were plugged into the diseqc swich.
Now i can only find channels at 4.8E.. nothing on 0.8W.. what can be wrong?
Most of us here are using dedicated linux based receivers rather than an HTPC setup on a PC. I have used DVBViewer a few years ago with a fixed dish and a DVB-S2 card but it has been a while! - You need to make sure that you are setting the software up to work with DiSEqC - so may be worth looking at the following;

ill look it up. But yeah it seems like those dvb card isnt really worth them money.. considering buying a box instead
