hope this might help people fcuin about in router trying to set ip
when you 1st start installing ubuntu at the 1st screen it looks at
hdd/boot/partitions/grub/ect. ect.
just after that (about 3rd screen) when it get to the point where it starts look at networks ipv6 ect quickly unplug the lan/rj45 cable
from pc as it tries to find your
network and dhcp after a short period it will then give you an
option to set manually eg.192.169.1.55, in some cases you might not have
to do the rest but check 255,255,255.0 ect ect ,xx,xx,xxx
then plug back in cable and off you go..
