CCam "Pausing"

    Has anyone come across this??


    my setup is:


    VU duo doing the serving


    around the house is a couple of DB600's, 2x DB7025's, 1x DB800 and a ferguson mini compact hd receiver (the ones with the short hdmi that stick to the back of the tv)


    Problem I get is that the ccam seems to pause - I don't see much if anything on the 600's - a little on the 800 and the worst is the fergusson which every 30 seconds or so pauses for about 5 seconds.


    The main bulk of my network runs through a 48 port gigabit managed netgear swtich, thinking it was that I cabled all the receivers through a standard 8 port dumb 100 meg swtich - didn't make any difference. Ive got 2 different versions of CCam on the vu - either one doesn't make any difference either.


    Ive also tried fixing the ip's and letting them run dynamic - no change....


    Im not and expert with the finer points of ccam (I can just about get it all setup and running) so I was looking for some advice/help on fault finding...

    As i have stated many times before if you need help we need all the facts.


    Which subscriber card, which versions of CCCam are you using, are you using OSCam to read the card, how many other peers are connected to the server.


    It could be something simple if we know all the facts, although to be honest if your Ferguson is anything like my old 102e, i would bargain that is the main issue of the freezing on that box.

    Card is ***. not sure what you mean by oscam to read the card. The vu has a vix image on it (I think its pretty well up to date) - cccam version is 2.3.0 (on the vix)


    Fergurson version is 1.21(B6) from memory but while it was pausing there was a firmware update which I applied but didn't change anything.


    As I said its not so pronounced on the 800 I get a slight sound glitch - almost like its processing faster than the fergusson.....

    Im reflashing with 1.21B6 is there anything newer than this??

    No idea about the Ferguson, although the newest files can usually be found here. If you don't know what OScam is then your not using it. To be honest i always found my 102e a pain in this aspect although i only ever used to get glitching about once every 20 mins or so with it.


    I would suggest to try using a lower version of CCCam on your client boxes. I find 2.3.0 not the best for the older DM600 & DM7025 boxes. I normally use 2.1.3 as i find it the most stable on my client boxes in the house.


    I would suggest trying CCCam 2.2.1 on your DM800s and server. To be totally honest I've never seen a reason to change from 2.1.3 for server and client, its super stable and reads all my cards. If it can't handle a card i just read it with OSCam and then pass it on to CCCam.


    How have you got your card setup. Have you set the clock frequency at 357Mhz?


    You will always get a small amount of glitching although on a home network its usually very minimal.


    Try whats been suggested and if it doesn't help you will have to post your configs up, obviously removing any info that you don't want anybody to see like card number and dns/ip addresses.

    Ok- thanks for that. Not sure about the clock frequency - where abouts is that - on the VU? - do you have a link for 2.1.3? kinda always gone for the latest but ill try what your using....

    Which images for which receivers?


    To alter the clock speed of the card In your CCCam.cfg file just add one of these lines dependent on which card reader you are using.


    SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQUENCY: /dev/sci0 3570000


    or


    SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQUENCY: /dev/sci1 3570000

    Sorry I haven't replied back sooner - ive changed to 2.1.3 and its a lot better - only pauses now and again....

    Yup- that did it. I needed to reboot first (the VU) - adding the line and restarting the cam wasn't enough. Its working fine now. Many thanks for all of your help. Its been like this for the best part of a year!
