  • Its hard to see past the VU+ Solo2 with your requirements. They are Linux Box's, they have massive support, they are fast & they do everything it says on the tin.

  • If the solo2 is not within your budget for now buddy the Vu Duo will do the job as well for you, slightly lower spec but massive support on here for it and also available from our site sponsor. £249

And you could get a duo with HDD fitted and ViX imave for as little as £6, still tickets left in the bonus ball draw..

  • Thanks all for the help as for the VU duo and solo2 what are the main differences in laymans terms and what would it mean when using them

    Thanks

  • The biggest difference is the speed at which the solo2 operates at compared to the duo when booting/restarting etc, in terms of using them no real big differences to be honest, they both really can take everything you throw at them. Solo2 is a lot smaller compared to the duo but it can only take a 2.5 sata hdd, the duo can take either a 2.5 or 3.5 hdd.

  • Id go with a solo2 or wait till its in your budget its a great box, maxdigital xp1000 was a real good deal for the money down fall is no internal hdd however a real bargain at the price, if your going to get a duo rather wait for more cash and get a solo2 price difference doesnt reflect the difference of speed with the solo2 and it runs a server sweet as a nut no issues worth every penny and compact :shake:
