Have you tried pluggin in the rs232 and seeing if dreamup can communicate with it?
Also what do you mean by "no live"?
-
yes mate nothing, can this happen if its been flashed wrong

i had box b4 dreambox500s . sometimes i plug it in, no light would appear on front of box... but i kept switching on/off power to box .it worked after while... could be poor power supply

From what reading i've done it can be possible. If dreamup fails to work the next option is to jtag the device.
But i'll warn you now if your not compotent with a soldering iron it's hard work.
Let us know how you get on tho.
If after everything you still can't get it working i can try and jtag it for you. I've jtagged modems, cable boxes, etc to know what im doing.

i can solder mate i jtaged mdems and cables boxes befor so i'm ok with that but how do i make one is it the same as the modem jtag and wheres the software and what not mate.
thanks -
I'm not sure if it is the same as the modem one. I'd have thought so tho.
Here is some info.....
And here is the files you will need with the software......

http://tmf120.eekhost.co.uk/Dream/dreamboxbootloader.rarI've not used it before but it looks fairly straight forward. From what i've read just make sure you solder carefully as i've read loads of horror stories from noobs doing it badly and killing the box permanently.
Oh and a video if it helps too....
