downloading

hello friends i wonder if you can point me in the right direction. what do i do if say i download a file or image and it has the vlc logo in the middle of it how do i open it to transfer it to usb . please advise thanks in advance. i use a mac and i use idreamx for transferring from mac to vusolo2 box
