*** Sports launches dedicated Ashes channel

    *** Sports is to flip *** Sports 2 into a dedicated cricket channel for the rest of the summer, offering 63 days of action from men’s, women’s and youth matches including this summer’s Ashes series.


    The Test series between England and Australia begins at Trent Bridge, Nottingham on July 10.


    In addition, *** will also feature coverage of all three Twenty20 internationals between England and Australia from this summer’s Women’s Ashes series, the YB40 one-day competition, Friend’s Life t20 and England v Pakistan under-19 international, plus archive shows, Cricket Am, Cricket Writers on TV and highlights.

    Former England captain Andrew Strauss will join the *** commentary team that also includes Sir Ian Botham, Shane Warne, David Gower, Michael Atherton, Nasser Hussain, David Lloyd and Michael Holding.


    Coverage of The Ashes will also be available on the iPad, while the Ashes Event Centre on ***sports.com, will offer users with further viewing options.
