How can i play avi files on DM800 ?

Ive stummbled a while ago while searching for a way to play avi files on the dm800! You any idea if its capable???? I know the dm800 will play mpegs and mkv without any problems! I dont want to go the whole VLC route as my home pc has a problem with overheating when im encoding anything and all VLC does is encode on the fly!

Sorry but I'm affraid you'll have to use your PC with VLC to the Dreambox if you want to play DIVX otherwise convert to mpeg4 first. I convert to mpeg4 the quality and file sizes are very similar to DIVX there is just the conversion overhead on the pc.

Found out for myself! Issue 107 - project-valerie - Divx/Xvid movies in many files - a media center based on enigma2 - Google Project Hosting From my understanding it plays avi files! but split avi files are a problem! Avidemux sorts that out by joining the files together for you!
Think i may pop out and buy a 500 gig 2.5 hard drive now!

How can i play avi files on DM800 ?
