How do i makle my dreambox have the same ip everytime, as i need to search for it each time i use dcc.
Its fed directly with a network cable from my router so is on all the time.
is this something i can do with my box or do i have to do with my router settings?
On the dm menu, untick dhcp in network settings.

yes that will make the ip static mate.
Make sure you put in an IP address that's on your local network e.g. 192.168.x.x with your router as the gateway address and also with the correct subnet mask.
Also try to assign an IP address that's not in the range of your DHCP server otherwise you could get IP address conflicts when you connect up another computer etc.
thanks for that..can i only edit my dreambox locally, can i not do it remotely?
Best to do it locally when changing the IP address otherwise you will loose the connection.
