If I reflash a new image on my VU+ Duo (Say from VIX to BlackHole) will this remove the password on the STB ?
If so will I have to telnet another one in DCC ?
Thanks

yes it will go back to default password mate
Thanks for that.
I'm having a bit of trouble accessing the Webinterface, I have set it up as per this tutorial.....

But when I input the Username and Password, I get this message "Authentication Required"
This must have something to do with the password on the box, as I have not changed/given it a new one since I was running the VIX image.
How do I change the password on the box ?
When I'm using DCC it still accepts the "Old Password"....Am I getting confused with DCC and the STB password ?
If I change Enable HTTP Authentication to No, I am able to access it.
Thank You.
You can edit the details in CCcam.cfg, by default its set like below.
WEBINFO USERNAME :root
WEBINFO PASSWORD :dreambox
I can see in CCcamconfig.
# The webinfo service can be protected with a username and password.
# This is switched off by default
#
#WEBINFO USERNAME : <username>
#WEBINFO PASSWORD : <password>
So all I need to do is change <username> to <root> and <password> to <secret>
Is that it ?
This wont change the DCC Login: Name: and Password: will it ?
Thank you.
#WEBINFO USERNAME : <username>
#WEBINFO PASSWORD : <password>
Any line that has # infront is disabled so remove the # infront of the lines, this will activate it.
DCC login details and webinfo are differant m8..
I removed the # infront of the 2 lines and It's just the same.
Sorry for being a pain.
WEBINFO LISTEN PORT : 16001
make sure there is no # infront of that also m8..
I removed the #'s from the 3 lines, it asks for a username and password.....I have tried my old user/pass combination, also tried root/no password
and also username/password, I have also left it blank...Still I'm unable to log on.
I Get This Box
Authentication Required.
A user name and password are being requested by http://192.168.x.x:xxxx. The site says: "Enigma2 WebInterface"
Then it asks for
Username:
Password:
Then it says Access Denied.
That's not the Port I'm using in the Webinterface Setup for the HTTP Port.....Is this correct ?
I have Enable HTTPS Access set to No.....In Webinterface Setup....Will this matter ?
To access webinterface just enter the ip address of the receiver into your browser, no username or password is required.
To access webinfo just enter the http://receiveripaddress:16001
Yes I can access it when I set Enable HTTP Authentication to No...But I would like to access it outside my network and I would like to set a password.
Thanks.
You will need to open the port in the router.
For webinterface open port 80
For webinfo open port 16001
Ports are open.....I think It's the password I need to create on the STB........How is this done.
I can connect without a problem if I turn set the HTTP Authentication to No
I really appreciate all the time and effort.....Thank you.
If you are connecting to your webinterface from outside the network using port 80 you will be prompted to use the receivers username and password that you changed by telnet.
If you are connecting to your webinfo from outside the network using port 16001 you will be prompted to use the webinfo username and password that you changed in CCcam.cfg.
From outside the network I use hxxp://billybob.dyndns.org:55567 (Made up)
I can access it when I have the HTTP Authentication set to No
From within the network I can access it using hxxp://192.168.x.x:xxxx when I have the HTTP Authentication set to No
But as soon as I set HTTP Authentication to Yes I can't access it at all, It's as if I'm not using the correct password, although I have not set a new one since flashing with BlackHole.
Thank you.
Sorted now, thanks master G for all the help, all I did was change the password using telnet in DCC.....Many thanks.
