Hi Guys
My 800 clone won't boot up, all i have is the red power light flashing and a blank screen tried re flashing with dream-up but still nothing.
Anybody have any ideas what the problem is or is it heading for the wheely bin

Pretty sure its not condemned to the wheelie bin yet Peter, give this a try buddy.

Its probably a faulty PSU. Its quite common in all honesty when they fail they output some voltage but not enough to actually start the box up. try another 12 volt psu before condemning the unit.

Not an error ive had the misfortune of buddy, try nano's suggestion if possible. -
The connection timed out means the box hasn't responded which it won't if it can't start up.
Have you tried doing a putty session on it when you switch it on to to if the RS232 port is doing anything?

Tried a different psu but still the same, can explain what you mean by a putty session, I've also tried flashing a new image using dreamup but kept saying unable to ping the box.

You wont ping the box if its not booting up bud you need to try with the rs232 port and a serial cable , is what nano was saying

Quick update
New box arriving today messed about with my dm800 last night this morning dm working again, don't know what i did i just removed the tuner and put it back in.
Flashed it with a new image everything fine but the box still won't ping in serial mode, as i'm typing my new box as just arrived to replace the now working dm.
I've a good mind to throw the dm in the wheelie bin anyway.

i beleive you may have an I.P conflict when trying to connect ?
