I have a spiderbox 9000HD as you probably allready know and i have Ubuntu Server, just need to get bt technician round who is coming round soon as i have drop in signal or server not being seen online.
Anyway once that is sorted was thinking of getting a card and starting a local share.
Would it work directly from my Spiderbox ie in one on the slots on stb and then through Ubuntu server through old pc could i share it that way ??

No mate you need a card reader for the ubuntu..

The spider can share throught newcamd alright..
So if you can configure it to share by newcamd to the ubuntu and then make the ubuntu show the card as a local well then its possible...
But its a spiderbox so i wouldnt get your hopes up!
what sort of card reader would i need ?

Would it do the same job?
what`s an omnikey same sort of thing i`m guessing ?
Yup its a card reader but doesnt read all cards so would have to check it out first...
Have looked on creative site ie sponser cant find anything neither on ebay ??
