Make sure when you are asked to power on the box for flashing you wait around 10 secs it always seems to work on one of the kids boxes as seems to go down a lot when updating the channel list

Is it a Proper Null modem cable your using or Usb to serial?

make sure you are using the correct version of loader.
the eromclient.abs file part of the loader must match the model of receiver.
you can't use the version for the s9/s10 that is the wrong processor type. -
I had the same problem with the openbox s12 and it is just a timing issue, i had to try it more that 50 or 60 times before it would get to the stage when it worked
perseverance is the best way, you will eventually get it to work

the loader gives you many minutes to turn the receiver on after hitting next.
A few times I tried loading firmware only to realize I didn't have the rs232 cable connected to the receiver.I took the time to connect and turn on and the loader still loaded. If you notice the eromclient.abs file is different sizes for the different models/processors.I think the f series one is like 40k size. -
cheers i will have a look tonight

Does this eprom firmware work for the F5S too ? And if not is any available? Yojiatech website doesn't list anything separately for it.

This is from a clone site, if that works for your F5s if it does please report back.:36_002:
