Raspberry Pi without transformer please howto

  • Sure can mate I use my phone Charger and all works very well,I have seen some say any will work just fine but if you find the Pi Locks up a lot I would look at getting a Real Charger

  • You should get something that supplies 5 volts (regulated) at 1A (or more current) and has a micro-USB plug. (A micro-USB plug is not the same as a mini-USB plug.)

  • You can just get a USB charger plug and a micro USB cable. Alternatively, it will run straight off a powered USB Hub with a micro USB cable. It is very useful if you bought yourself a powered Hub with several ports, because as well as the ports coming in handy it is a source of power!
