If it is a 500 hd clone then you probably have a very decent box there mate, how much did you pay for it?

try adding "yes" to the end of you c line instead of "no" worked for me.
eg:- C: satsever.dns.com 12000 user pass yes

sweet!@ smuf just create a txt file then save as softcam.cfg with you c-line in then load to the box.

use note pad, input your c-line then save-as softcam.cfg

1 line per c-line, so yours if using 1 will be one line,
eg:C: yourserver.dns 12000 yourusername yourpassword yes

Eventually found some info on these they are not actual clones...they use a NXP chipset (similar to Technomate TM800HD) they do not run Dreambox code or images, and you can use only the clone manufacturers standard image so cannot run enigma, the case looks like a legitimate Dm500HD.

I was going to try put a tm800hd image on it as the specs look nearly identicle, do you recon i should try it?
I can telnet into the thing but cant edit anything as it says "read-only file system" is there any way to change this?
It also runs on busybox the same as dreambox........

I would imagine even if you could get to the bootloader it would read the flash image and report back an error and not continue. Obviosely you could try it but its very very likely that it won't take the image or you could brick the box. Would leave alone in my opinion unless you got money that grows on trees lol
