  • Hello everybody,

I'm a beginner and don't know really what I may do or not do regarding some upgrades.
Sorry if I post this message in a not appropriated section.

I have an Axas Class M / Openatv 3.0 / Enigma 2 - receiver which has been completely installed by the one which do cardsharing for me and others.
On the openatv's website there is since a few weeks a new V.4.0 image available with, I suppose, a few news or improvement (?)

My question is: may I upgrade the image of my receiver (trough USB key) without any risk for me to lose all the parameters for the cardsharing ?

    Thank you for your help/support

    Best regards

  • Thank you for your reply.

If I go to "system parameters backup", is that enough to save all what I need to restore after flashing ?
Or do I have to look further for any other backup option ?

(sorry but it is my first time...)

    Regards

  • ATV the same as ViX and all other OE-A member teams now uses a totally new OE build environment, which is vastly different from the one the 3.xx series images was based on, it's just not possible to use backups from one platform to another without causing massive problems for your self, this is why andy took the radical step of disabling the restore function between ViX 3.0 and Zeus.

you can still backup things like bouquets, timers.xml and autotimers.xml files and any cam config files but you should not use the inbuilt backup feature for this. That said do make a full backup of your current image so you can use it again if the 4.0 image series is not to your liking.
