Extract the attached file > FTP mgcamd to /var/bin/emu/. FTP libcrypto.so.0.9.7 to /var/lib/ give permissions 644 > FTP config files to /var/keys/

N line needs to be converted to a CWS = line so mgcamd can read it..

    Example:

    Code
    N: 127.0.0.1 10001 linuxsat support 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14
    CWS = 127.0.0.1 10001 linuxsat support 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14

Place converted N line into newcamd.list.

  • Thank you for your reply.. So far I have followed your tut and almost there ( I think ) ..

1, downloaded and extracted files to my windows desktop
    2, FTP mgcamd to /var/bin/emu
    3, FTP libcrypto.so.0.9.7 to /var/lib/ give permissions 644 > FTP config files to /var/keys/
4, FTP config files to /var/keys/ ??? is that the mg_cfg file in the downloaded folder ?

N line needs to be converted to a CWS = line so mgcamd can read it.. sorry what is a CWS ?

Place converted N line into newcamd.list. ..What and where is the newcamd list ?

    Nearly there I hope

    Regards

Open newcamd.list file with notepad++ and paste in your N line.

For example your N line looks like this:
    N: 127.0.0.1 10001 linuxsat support 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14

At the front of the N line you have N:

Remove/delete that and put/type CWS = into its place.

Your N line now looks like this:
    CWS = 127.0.0.1 10001 linuxsat support 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14

Save then FTP to /var/keys along with mg_cfg fie..

  • Ok I got that now ...Once again thank you so much ...

Works a treat ! :09: .... Would you say mgcamd is a better emulator than CCcamd ?

I have used both as a client and honestly couldn`t tell the difference.. Comparing the two depends on what you want to use them for and what your setup is.. Mgcamd is a client only emulator & CCcam works as client and a server.. Oscam would be the best emulator at the moment buddy, it combines all protocols into one emulator and is updated daily..

Mgcamd is the best client reader to use in my opinion(1.35a) i have been using that for around 3 years or whenever it was released....however i have never used oscam as a client reader so i cannot comment on that really..if you are using your box to update card entitlements then definately DO NOT use cccam!

Later versions of Mgcamd were basically patched to read latest caids but i have never required that as yet.

  • You made my day. I have been struggling for a day to setup mgcamd till I saw your post. Thanks

  • Hi, can these files and processes be used on the Zgemma or are there differences?
Sorry if I'm in the wrong place this is where the search engine brought me...

These files are only for the commando image.. You need softcams that are compatible with the image being used on your zgemma.. Which image are you using ?

  • Hello folks,
New to this forum and wouldn't be the most clued up so hopefully I can get some help.
I am running commando 15.1 on my dm 500s and have cccam 2.3.0 on it, I have been having a lot of trouble lately with glitching and freezing, I am looking to install newcamd.
What exactly does "give permissions 664" mean, that bit has me stumped?

With an FTP tool like DCC or Filezilla navigate to where the config files are on the receiver (var/keys) > right click on the file and change permissions / attributes to 644.

I have attached configs that already have the correct permissions for mgcamd..

  • Thanks a lot for the reply master G.
Is the dm 500s an enigma 1 or 2 receiver?
I'm familiar with dreambox control centre so I will have a crack at that.
