  • Hi,
    I have setup Ubuntu 11.04 Desktop. I have followed the instructions and have setup CCcam 2.2.1. I have a smargo reader. I can see it as a /dev/ttyUSB0 I'm trying to use the CCcam via the smargo with a gamma card, and I can see in the CCcam log, that the card is recognized as Irdeto and then error: Here is the log

    00:26:28.132 CCcam: /dev/ttyUSB0 configured clock frequency: 6000000 Hz
    00:26:28.421 CCcam: irdeto card found
    00:26:29.112 CCcam: card added to broker with caid xxx
    00:26:33.255 CCcam: login from xxxxxxxxxxxx
    00:26:33.257 CCcam: user xxxx login attempt from xxxxxxxxxxx
    00:26:33.259 CCcam: client xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, running CCcam 2.1.4
    00:26:47.645 CCcam: local emm -> card /dev/ttyUSB0 0xXXX(0x000)
    00:26:49.238 CCcam: local emm <- card /dev/ttyUSB0 error
    00:26:49.238 CCcam: client xxxx emm 0xXXX(0x0) ok: 0 (took 1.593 seconds)
    00:26:50.884 CCcam: /dev/ttyUSB0 configured clock frequency: 6000000 Hz
    00:26:51.173 CCcam: irdeto card found
    00:26:51.864 CCcam: card added to broker with caid xxx

    In other words, the card disconnects and connects again. I have tried using the smargo on DM800 with CCcam 2.1.4 but there also the card disconnects and connects again.
    Is there a compatibility issue between the smargo and the gamma card. Has anyone success on using this reader with this card? What is the problem actually?

  • try this to be put on CCcam config with CCcam221 or CCcam213 should work

    All this is already present in my CCCam.cfg file. I have tried only with CCCam 2.2.1. Should I try with 2.1.3?

  • I have tried all of the above settings exactly as they are written. The final result is again negative, the card returns an error. Here is the log:

    Should I try with 2.1.3 or 2.1.4 of CCCam. Is there a problem with my version of CCCam?
    As for the settings of the Smargo, they are:

    Mode = Autoswitch
    Kernel = pc
    T-mode = 0
    GT = 0

    If I set the Kernel to Dreambox, the error from the CCCam is "Card detect fail".
    I have tried the smargo reader in DM800, I have changed the Kernel to Dreambox, and the card gets reset also there. But the card works without any issues in the internal card reader (/dev/sci0). What is wrong here?

    Anser for the cdr user: Also my gamma in the internal reader of DM800 works without problems, but not in the smargo reader.

    P.S. On the dream I'm using 2.1.4 CCCam and the card resets in the smargo.

  • you should try CCcam213 as i said above on my post the config i did give you where working ok with 213 and gamma nova so i don't see any reason why will not work for you M8

    I tried with CCCam 2.1.3 and again the card resets. Hers is the log again:

    I have a question for you cdr. Have you used gamma card with a smargo reader? I have an assumption that gamma is not working with smargo.

  • Hi cdr,
    Thank you for the effort and your answers. I do also confirm that gamma works in DM800 internal reader, but looks like can not work with smargo :). Anyway your friend helped me a lot, to stop trying make smargo + gamma :)
    Anyway if master G has other suggestion I will be glad to hear them.
