LCD4Linux is already installed on that image so no need to try reinstalling again. It can be configured at Menu > Setup > System > Front Display Panel..
Are you using my backup image or a fresh install of apollo ?

Hi Master G,
It's the 1 you gave, I just cant get it to change. I have no hdd fitted yet so everything is being saved on the box. I may have bollocks about with original settings while having a few beer10
if I start again and reload image do I need to download picons first and then reboot and make changes in front panel?
cheers -
LCD4Linux is setup to read the picons from USB by default on the backup image..
1) FTP the picon folder to /usr/share/enigma2
2) Press Menu > Setup > System > Front Display Panel > LCD4Linux
3) Press Blue button > Scroll down to Picon Path [ok]>
4) Press OK button..
5) Press OK button X2 on <Parent Directory> > Scroll down to usr folder and press OK button > Scroll down to share folder and press OK button > Scroll down to enigma2 folder and press OK button > Scroll down to Picon folder and press Select/Green button.
6) Press Save/Green button..
Or download the attached file > FTP LCD4linux-20140719_1312.lcd to /tmp folder > Press Menu > Setup > System > Front Display Panel > LCD4Linux > Menu button > Choose Load file > Press OK button to load file > Press Save/Green button..
