OpenELEC 4.2 Beta 4 released

  • The OpenELEC team is proud to announce OpenELEC 4.1.4.

    The OpenELEC 4.1 release series are test releases (beta) for OpenELEC-4.2.
    OpenELEC-4.2 will be the next stable release, which is a feature release and the successor of OpenELEC-4.0.

    This release includes some bugfixes, security fixes and improvements since OpenELEC-4.1.3. Besides the usual bugfixes and package updates we updated XBMC toXBMC Gotham 13.2 RC1, FFmpeg to ffmpeg-2.3.2, kernel to linux-3.16.1 and OpenSSL to OpenSSL-1.0.1i. We fixed crashes with LiveTV introduced in 4.1.3, added fixes for iMON and Xpad Controllers and remotes, added support for DVB*** s950v3 and s952v3 DVB hardware and updated the RaspberryPi firmware to include the last fixes and features.

    RaspberryPi Users:

    This build includes a new MMC/SDCard driver, which is disabled by default.
    This is expected to become the default sdcard driver in the future. It should avoid some of the issues of the old driver, like polling with interrupts disabled, and could improve performance and avoid interfering with other drivers (e.g. USB or LIRC).
    You can choose the new driver with adding bcm2708.bcm2835_mmc=1 to cmdline.txt. To edit your cmdline.txt run the following commands and reboot after the change:

    Code
    [COLOR=#333333][FONT=Menlo]mount -o remount,rw /flash[/FONT][/COLOR]
    [COLOR=#333333][FONT=Menlo]nano /flash/cmdline.txt[/FONT][/COLOR]
