Backing up and Restore image to USB Pen

Hi,

I understand this has been discussed before, but I have been trying to copy the settings exactly of one Duo to upload on the next. I have Cooltv Guide, TSpanel, Picons, etc etc, and rather than do it each time just flash with the Back up. Were I am stuck is when I go to Back up menu, and it says HDD, I cant select the USB Pen. I formated it before hand? Can anyone please help me... Also does a Backup keep the channels scanned on the tunners, rather than run a scan each time taking about 20 minutes? Thanks

Which image are you trying to backup ? A full image backup or just personal / settings backup will save the channels scanned, plugins, tuner settings, other modifications made. You should look at adding a channel list like catseye or using autobouquets plugin, only takes a few minutes to configure everything instead of scanning the satellite.. Both can be downloaded from our addons panel..

Hi master G, I'm looking to make an exact duplication, to stick into another system. Full backup, I always stick on autoboquets, do I need to run a scan first, normally I run the scan then autoboquets, so can I cut out the scan?

Which image are you looking to make an exact duplication of, openvix,, blackhole etc ? You don`t need to scan the satellite first, just run the autobouquets plugin, or upload a channel list like catseye with dreamset..

Do you have HDD and USB drives attached ? If you only have USB then checkout how you have setup mountpoints for it in device manager (blue X2).. It should be /media/usb..

You would, mount it as /media/usb in device manager. If you have the option to backup to hdd, do that instead..

If I back it up to HDD how do I restore it to a second box? Is the HDD not the interval drive?

If you backup to hdd, you then can ftp it to your desktop using filezilla/dcc etc.
Should be in media/hdd folder (i think)
You then can put it onto a usb drive.
