how do i know if my dm500 is a clone

  • A lot of the older ones can be detected by the mac address.


    if the mac starts with 00 : 12 : 25 then box is definitely a fake.
    if the mac starts with 00 : 09 : 34 then box could be genuine.


    DMM haven't made a genuine DM500 for a very long time, i think 2008 or 2009 was when they stopped making them. If its been sold as a new genuine one it will definitely be a clone.


    If it has a front panel similar in looks to the DM800 it will also be a clone.

  • Most clones after the Gemini time bomb era had a MAC address starting with 9:34
    Just use pli, commando or if you like GP images use GP 4.2 or earlier
