ensuring protocol in WAN

    Hello,
    Could you tell me, which protocol is best for use at WAN (cs378x, camd35 or cccam) , server is oscam? How can I safe using these protocols at WAN? Must I use VPN tunel for clients or not? Where do you use VPN, only for ssh? Could you tell me some information about securing my server, please?
    Is there a program to capture protocols like cs378x, Camd35,...?
