  • I'm hitting a brick wall and would appreciate some fresh eyes on this.

Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, Omnikey 3021, TBS6984 DVB-S2, Oscam r9584, CCcam 2.1.3. Backend all in one server, no external clients except in-house mythtv frontend.

For a long time i struggled to get Oscam and CCcam running until I stumbled across thatfellow's brilliant tutorial Tutorial - Ubuntu Server 11.10, 12.xx, 13.04 x32/x64 - Auto Oscam/CCcam 2.1.3 Install.

Now things seem to be running, but no encryption or returns to the client seem to take place and no channel decrypted. Card working fine on set top box. What am I missing?

  • Hey TomT, It's been a while since I played with Myth, but I recall that Myth has no client for oscam to decrypt the DVB device.
When I was using Myth some time back, you had to use a loopback device that made use of the decrypt library... it used to be called sasc-ng, but that project has been replaced with ffdecsawrapper.
A quick google will show you exactly how to set it up with Myth, and that documentation will explain it far better than I can.

In a nutshell, you will have 4 DVB devices that are real (your TBS card is a quad tuner, right?), and another 4 that are decrypted and make use of oscam.
