  • Hi

I need a replacement - Freesat will do for me. Unit needs to be able to:
    1. record to a buffer without having to tell it to record, so that I can rewind TV. Handy if I miss something
    2. Can I then choose to record that programme from the beginning?
    3. need to edit programmes on TV (I'm a teacher so use snippets in class)
    4. jump forward and backwards a predetermined number of seconds/minutes to skip adverts?

Looked at Vu+ but not sure if it can do all that

Yes a vu+ and a hard drive will do that, most enigma2 boxes can do that... its called timeshift.
You will be able to edit the recorded file like any other video file with pc software.

  • Hi m-vs1,
As jenseneverest has stated, most enigma2 linux receivers will accommodate this for you (timeshift).
If you need to record a channel while watching another, a twin tuner receiver is your answer.
There is a world of plugins and addons available for these receivers and a huge variety are posted on here.
Your in the right place for all things satellite and iptv but please read the rules:

    And post an introduction here:
