Network Shared folder issue

Just received MAG 254 today, I can only connect to my home LAN if I turn off password protection for the Windows shared folders, which I prefer not to do. With it turned on, I get a message "Unable to get server shares", once I turn it off, the first time I try to access a shared folder it asks me for a username and password and then doesn't ask again and works just fine. I have the network settings on the MAG set to DHCP with manual DNS. Others with the 254 tell me that they have passworded shares and the box only asks once for a name/password and it fine after that. Any assistance would be appreciated.
