had a bit of spare time yesterday afternoon and had a couple of dead openbox s9 i had stored away a year or so ago, so i thought i would see if i could recover either of them.
i tried the eeprom upgrade method with no luck.
so i took the top off and looked at the power supplies.
careful examination showed that the top of capacitor c19 in both boxes looked a little swollen.
so i changed the caps and both boxes fully working again.
hope this info may be of some use to somebody.
