Hi all,
I'm not sure if this is the right place but... how to upgrade oscam ymod using openatv e2 image manually/via command line?
I have a Golden Media Spark Reloaded 990 with openATV 4.2 with oscam ymod1854.

You can`t use a command to pull it from the image, as the feed doesn`t provide the update. You would need to FTP an ipk file with the latest version to /tmp/ folder then issue a command like this:
You could update it manually:
1# FTP to /usr/bin/ folder > rename oscam_atv_ymod file to oscam_atv_ymod1 (if you have any problems with the new version rename this back to oscam_atv_ymod)
2# Download and extract the attached file then FTP the contents (oscam_atv_ymod) to /usr/bin/ folder > change permissions on oscam_atv_ymod file to 755
3# You can edit the script so it shows the latest version in image menu.
FTP to /etc folder > open and edit oscam_atv_ymod.emu file > change emuname = oscam ymod 18.54 to emuname = oscam ymod 18.56
4# Restart enigma2.

In another way, can do like:
opkg update /tmp/enigma2-plugin-softcams-oscam-atv-ymod_18.56_all.ipk ?
or opkg install?
The ipk must be compatible with your image/receiver. You need sh4.ipk not all.ipk. The version you are trying is for mips32el receivers like dreambox or Vu+..

Correct... I found a ipk for sh4 but is 1854 - enigma2-plugin-softcams-oscam-atv-ymod_18.54_sh4.ipk
Using your procedure should be ok, no?
Btw, what is the different between install the package (ipk) and just the binary?
The command line method for enigma2-plugin-softcams-oscam-atv-ymod_18.54_sh4.ipk will be ok not the 56_all.ipk.
The difference in each ipk will only be a compatible binary for each receiver type. The folder structure is the same for all receivers on openatv image.
You can download oscam ymod from the attached softcam-feed.
Many thanks for clarification, master G!
I will try the manual procedure later on... :)
Probably already noted I'm facing some issues with oscam : http://linuxsat-support.com/showthread.php?t=78753
Mar 16 20:47:04 sparkreloaded user.notice kernel: Unaligned userspace access in "oscam_atv_ymod" pid=1091 pc=0x0043ba40 ins=0x2822
I'm not sure if is an issue more related with the cam or with the image (openATV)... let's see after upgrade oscam ymod.

Hi... i restarted but cannot find oscam.conf - is trying to find in /var/etc but is in /var/keys/oscam.
Just copy the files?
Copy your oscam config files to /usr/keys folder.
Copy your oscam config files to /usr/keys folder.
I copied to /etc but now dont have any lines... probably cannot found oscam.server and oscam.user
Copy the attached files to /usr/keys. Edit accordingly with your own details..

And regarding oscam.keys?
Bad luck... oscam is not starting with boot. :/
Need some help here...
yes. Starting from command line works. I reverted the changes (to oscam ymod 18.54) and starts in boot.
FTP to /etc then backup oscam_atv_ymod.emu file. Open oscam_atv_ymod.emu file then add the content from below and save.
emuname = oscam ymod 18.56
binname = oscam_atv_ymod
startcam = /usr/bin/oscam_atv_ymod -b -r 2 -c /usr/keys/oscam_atv_ymod
stopcam = killall -9 oscam_atv_ymod
Send over the new ymod binary and change permissions to 755.
Restart enigma2.
If the binary i previously attached doesn`t work, try a different one for sh4 from the latest oscam ymod thread i linked..

emu file was like you said... just changed oscam ymod 18.54 to oscam ymod 18.56. Also permissions are 755.
Starting manually works.
(Anyway, after start ymod 18.56 I noted some behaviour like ymod 18.54... filling /var/log/messages in a infinite loop with oscam warning.)
I made an ipk with all the necessary changes, let me know if it works ok buddy..

Thanks! tonight or tomorrow will test it.
Should to an image backup, correct?
No need to backup anything, just install the older ipk you have or use a version from the softcam feed..
