How to create m3u, m3u8 files direct from you local card - Dreambox reciever

install vlc

open the webif of your box with your pc
type the ip address of your box in a browser
192.168.x.x

pick a channel via the small tv icon far right of screen
open it with vlc

click tools
then codec info

copy the url
it will look like this
http://192.168.1.4:8001/1:0:1:107D:7E5:2:11A0000:0:0:0:

change the red bit
for your real ip address

google whats my ip

make a list like below
with your real ip

portforward in your router port 8001
to your box ip

give someone the list
play on any mediaplayer

requirements
must be able to use brain

thats a great tutorial thanks also is it just 1 channel or can you get multi channels keep you give me some info on how to port forward the streamthanks davie

Also, to get all channels in a bouquet, select the TV icon on the left near the bouquet name...

Also don't forget to set a password for your webif and streaming if you open your box up to the internet!!!!

And if the upload bandwidth of your internet connection is not very big, you can try reducing the size of the stream by transcoding. I just posted in another thread an example how to do that with VLC on a PC.

Hello , I've just become a member because of your very interesting post , up to now I thought this could only be achieved through very expensive equipment ( a lot of encoders , servers etc ) It's so wonderful to discover that there are affordable solutions ... I live in the US , my connection is about 50 megs down and about 13 up ( can always upgrade if needed ) ... I would absolutely love to have my own links and stop combing the internet every 15 days to replace the dead ones . Please correct me if I'm wrong , this is all a brand new concept to me . This is the system as I understood from your post

1- A certain TV satellite box with an Ethernet port and some kind of subscription or access to a Satellite in the sky
2- A computer with a browser to work with the administration panel of the TV box
3- Build an M3U playlist with my IP address
4- A router to forward the remote requests straight to the TV Box
5- A remote client compatible with M3U format ( I hope I can use the Kodi plugin " Playlist Loader " ) which is my favorite

I can't believe live TV streaming can be achieved efficiently through such simple conditions !!

Your "system" is correct. Just add a few things:

1. Can also have DVB-T/C tuner for over-the-air and/or cable TV.
2. Not absolutely necessary, but very useful.
5. It does not have to be m3u, just a player which understands http video streaming, which most do. Kodi definitely works.

Any linux based receiver that you can install enigma2 on should work. There are also other boxes which can stream through some sort of web interface. Another options is to buy a satellite or TV tuner cad for your PC and then you can stream from it.

then you would do as in post 2
login to webif
click movies
pick a movie when it opens in vlc
click tools
then codec info

give list to m8

change bit in red for your real ip
and change port to whatever your webif is
portforward that port in your router to your box ip

the name of the movie (if movie name has a space you put %20 to close the space)
the file extensions .mp4.flv.mkv :etc

Hi, I'm new to this forum and I'm looking for a bit of advice.

I regularly work away from home and would like to stream content from both my HDD (which I currently use plex for) and from an IPTV service via a MAG 254.

I have read a lot about Slingbox however they're a bit pricey and only allow one connection.

I would like the option to have a couple of connections (myself, friends and family - should they wish) giving them the opportunity to stream whichever channel they wish.

Is this possible using the steps above?
